Preventative care is critical to your pet's long-term health. At Plains Animal Hospital, we offer thorough wellness checks for dogs, cats, and other pets to diagnose problems at the earliest stage. Over the age of ten, pets tend to develop more extensive health problems. For early detection and treatment, we recommend physical examinations every 6-12 months. We also offer senior wellness blood panels. Blood work is one of the veterinarian’s first and most important tool in evaluating patients. It is an internal view of your pet’s overall health. Depending on the results of the initial blood work, other diagnostic tests may be warranted to fully diagnose the extent or the cause of any abnormal findings.
