Meet Our Dedicated Staff 

Dr. Danielle Ambrose

Dr. Danielle Ambrose
Dr. Ambrose was born and raised in Hanover Township, PA. She decided upon a career at age two, when she announced to her family, "I want to be an animal doctor when I grow up." Dr. Ambrose spent her childhood taking care of neighborhood strays and numerous family pets. She graduated from Wilkes University in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
Prior to beginning veterinary school in September 1993, Dr. Ambrose spent a year doing post-graduate work in Parasitology at Wilkes University.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, in May of 1997. Dr. Ambrose worked at several local practices before joining Plains Animal Hospital in February 2006.

Dr. Sara Dorman

Dr. Sara Dorman
Dr. Dorman, a Larksville native, worked as a veterinary technician at Plains Animal Hospital while completing her undergraduate degree in Biology at King's College. She then went on to obtain her VMD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. 
Following veterinary school, Dr. Dorman pursued a year-long, small animal medical / surgical internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. She joined our practice in August 2011. Dr. Dorman obtained additional training in small animal dentistry and strives to incorporate dental health into the care of her patients. 

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, and two sons Grayson and Gavin, shopping, decorating, cooking, and traveling.

Dr. Kristin Edwards

Dr. Kristin Edwards
Dr. Edwards grew up in Newtown Square, PA (a southwest suburb of Philadelphia), with two younger sisters and no pets, yet decided at age 5 that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Edwards received her BA from Haverford College in 1986. She then moved to Philadelphia to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1990.
In 1999, Dr. Edwards received her certification from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). She served as the chairperson of IVAS' Continuing Education Committee for the past four years and has been on the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture House of Delegates to IVAS.

When not working or sticking needles in everything she can, Dr. Edwards enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, riding her horses, walking, hiking, baking and eating cookies.

Dr. Michelle Damcott

Dr. Michelle Damcott
Dr. Damcott grew up in Clymer, NY on her family Dairy farm. She decided at a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She attended Sherman Central School and then graduated from Alfred University with a major in Biology. Dr. Damcott went on to obtain a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. She joined our practice in May 2014 and enjoys getting to know all her clients and patients at PAH. Her professional interests include soft-tissue surgery and internal medicine.
During her spare time, Dr. Damcott enjoys travelling, gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and pets.
Dr. Andrea Carr 
Dr. Carr, a native of Dallas, PA, grew up on a small hobby farm with goats and chickens. She decided early on she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Carr graduated from Misericordia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2014 and went on to earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 2018. She joined the team at Plains Animal Hospital in July 2019.
In addition to general practice, Dr. Carr has an interest in organized veterinary medicine, and was elected as District 3 Board of Trustee for the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association in 2019. 

When not working, she loves spending time with her senior Jack Russell Terrier, Willie and orange cat, Copper. She also enjoys outdoor activities, crocheting, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, traveling, and taking flying lessons. Her goal is to someday earn her pilot’s license and travel to remote areas of the country to serve communities who otherwise would not have access to veterinary care.
